Tuckmans 5 Stage Model

Tuckman’s (Robbins et. al, 2001, p. 273) 5 stage model explains the 5 phases in the team life cycle. That is;

Forming – characterised by uncertainty

Storming – characterised by intra-team conflict

Norming – characterised by cohesiveness

Performing – characterised by functionality

Adjourning – characterised by conclusion of tasks. 

I believe our team is somewhere in between the storming and norming phase of the team life cycle, while we are starting to become more cohesiveness there are still aspects of the intra – team conflict that have been present in earlier weeks.
