What did I Learn?

So before the evaluation of my training course I thought it necessary to reflect on my learning in relation to the expectations and objectives I set out before I began the course.
In terms of objectives I was able to complete a scrapbook with all my photos and memorabilia which is neatly presented and meaningful to me. The lessons were structured which at first I thought would enhance my learning and provide guidance but towards the end I was finding it frustrating as all I wanted to do was finish my project and the associated lessons. The lessons where posted up every few days or so which meant it was hard to keep going with my scrapbook when I wanted to. Also as a reflection of my learning style the first two lessons about planning and developing a focus were hard for me because I wanted to start immediately and just clicking through to the next page was tempting. Overall i found the course fun and enjoyable but im not sure if i really learned anything, possibly this was my fault due to the type of course I decided upon.

Expectations

The objectives for my course are as follows:

This class will provide a general overview of scrapbooking’s growing popularity around the world as well as how to scrapbook! You’ll build your scrapbook vocabulary as well as your layout and design skills. Learn how to journal and add embellishments to your page. With these newly learned ideas and techniques, you’ll become a confident scrapbooker — ready to shop at an independent scrapbook retailer, a large craft chain, online store, or even a national home shopping network. Then, with these products and your digital photos, you’ll be able to create beautiful memory books for yourself and future generations.

By the end of the course i hope to have a completed scrapbook that is a collection of memorabilia and keepsakes that provokes memories and inspires dreams. i expect the learning experience to be quite structured as there will be quizzes and tasks to complete but also very interactive and loads of fun. there are discussion forums for other learners to participate in and also an assigned instructor who will guide the learning process which will hopefully be supportive throughout my learning.

Online Learning

Ive chosen to complete an online course in the art of scrapbooking?!

I was originally looking for a course on digital photography but after searching through the online courses on the HP website I noticed the scrapbook class would be so much more fun

click here to take a look!

I was surprised at how hard it actually is to find an online course of decent quality that is free. Everyone I found you had to pay for or was just a slab of text on a screen that you could read and say you’ve done a course. I was also considering this AGFA digital photography course but it doesnt look half as interesting.
