With technology forging ahead in leaps and bounds, the latest learning tool ‘best new talent’ award goes to our mobile phones for facilitating M-learning. While its still in the development phase and I can see hours of time going into the instructionally sound design, interactive, multimedia enhanced content that we can access via our mobile, I’m still wondering is there any point? Firstly (call me blind) but my mobile phone screen is way too small to even view photos on. I have a 3G phone with quite a large screen in comparison but I know my attention span and looking at text/graphics/anything of importance for more than 30seconds would do my head in.
Okay Okay enter your latest whiz bang PDA, its got potential and certainly is more user friendly. But are we trying to be too clever? Will M-learning really take off?
I can’t help but feel sceptical. Sure, generation Y loves their technology toys but its all about the attention span issue.
