The Australian Financial System & Markets
Analysis Most learners completing this course will be (recently) employed in the financial services industry. This course is at an introductory level with the view that it is completed in house on the commencement of employment. However, different employees will start with different knowledge ,experience or skills. The course will endeavour to provide a basic overview and introduction to the financial systems and markets operating in Australia. This is primarily aimed at operational level staff who have acquired many of their workplace skills from on the job or informal training. Most of this training is geared more towards completing workplace tasks that align with company procedures such as general cashiering or loan processing. In my view gaining some theoretical knowledge on the context under which these procedures have been developed would further enhance employee performance at this level. Design The cognitive approach will form the basis of design to accomodate this. However it may be necessary to incorporate elements of other learning theory to improve the design of the course. It is important for the course to have a corporate look and feel to it, however much of the content is factual information represented in definitions, headings and graphs which can be dull if not highlighted using fun activities, examples or pictures.
